A patient game that I can't find my way to play

It's just a matter of knowing when to say no or yes.

Bio
Hi, I'm Sean. I just moved to Las Vegas, and I work as a bar back at Krave, a club near the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Sometimes I write for a little independent weekly city paper too.

A year from now, I'm going to wind up moving up to a bigger local paper. Seven months after that, I'm going to break my first big story.

I'm twenty-three years old, and I have my whole life ahead of me. Sixty-four years.

Sean's ability: (For player knowledge ONLY)

Sean's power is precognition in the form of a list of dates and significant events that will take place in his life.

When Sean was nine years old, he started getting recurring fevers and headaches. Sometimes, when he woke up from sleeping one off, he'd have a date and a mental picture of something that he'd dreamt or seen. The dreams and visions repeated themselves and he and his parents began to keep a list of them. None of them had any idea what all of this meant. After about seven months, the condition came as mysteriously as it went, and his family went back to their lives as if nothing had happened.

Until October 3, 1997, which was the earliest date on the haphazard list Sean and his family had cobbled together in a notebook. All Sean had seen for that day was that his older brother, Chris, was going to die. His parents had assured him, those years earlier, that it was just a bad nightmare. But Chris went missing on his way to football practice that morning. His body was found in a nearby park three days later. He'd been murdered; to this day no one's answered for the crime.

Sean immediately took custody of the notebook. He cleaned up and ordered the list, and once he'd worked to commit it to memory, he destroyed the book. As more and more of the events he'd seen began to come to pass, Sean grew more confident in the certainty of the last item on the list--that he wasn't going to die until he was eighty-seven years old. That's led him to jump into some things that are equal parts heroic and foolish. He broke up a fight a year and some ago, and got stabbed for his troubles. He lives life rather fearlessly and impulsively, because he knows he won't die, not now.

He has not had another vision since his mysterious illness cleared up fourteen years ago. His visions only directly concerned his own life; where they center on others, it's only because what he saw had an immediate impact on him, such as his brother's murder.

Sean doesn't always see major events coming. He talked his father out of scheduling a meeting at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, without knowing why it was so important his dad not go there that day. So stuff like this directly challenges that sense of infallibility he generally has about himself. He doesn't like that.

Sean's very friendly and open about most things except the exact contents of the list--he's not always going to tell you what's coming unless it's imminent or it's happening as you speak. This might sometimes make him come across as remote or unhelpful or sneaky; he's not trying to be a pain in the ass, he just knows what he has to do or where he has to be, and he has enough faith in his list to know not to argue.

He knows the day he'll die. Because he knows when his day is, he knows when it is not his day, and sometimes, that leads him to do things most people might not.
